Work of Art Pilates

Work of Art Pilates is an intimate studio based in Ryde, Sydney, owned and operated by June Kang. June is a delightful, softly spoken, elegant person with years of experience working as a Pilates instructor, now following the dream of owning her own studio. June’s key requirements: genuine, bespoke, calming, muted, soft, organic, clean, aroma, warmth. Work of Art Pilates is focuses on the connection and uniqueness of the clientele with intimate one-on-one sessions.

One of the obstacles with the brand lies in the name itself: the words “WORK OF ART” can easily be misinterpreted as “Work of Fart” if used incorrectly!

After exploring numerous concepts and experimenting with different typefaces and arrangements, the solution revealed itself. The inspiration derived from studying pilates poses and paint brush strokes - The human figure was just asking to be hand drawn. Depicting a gender neutral figure stretching out of a “canvas” frame reinforced the idea of a “Work of Art.” Aligning the movement in the logotype helps solidify brand presence, even when separated. Random free-flowing lines carry the brand essence across other mediums like studio walls, merchandise, welcome packs and more.
